LET'S GO FISHING
Long Lake’s 99 miles of shoreline feature numerous bays and inlets, varied structure, and depths to 70 feet. Long Lake has been officially designated “The Walleye Capital of Wisconsin,” and it’s 3,300 acres of spring-fed waters are also great for northern, bass, sunfish, crappie and bluegills.
Whether you’re a walleye-trolling diehard or a worm-and-bobber sunny fisherman, you’ll love Long Lake. And don’t forget the winters… if you’ve never tried ice fishing, The Pioneer is the place to start!
ROW, ROW, ROW YOUR BOAT
Or better yet, put a motor on it. You can use our launch/landing and tie your boat to one of The Pioneer’s boat docks, or you can rent one of our fishing boats or our pontoons.
A HUNTING WE WILL GO.
Hunters have long enjoyed their autumns at The Pioneer on Long Lake. The surrounding area is surrounded with deer, grouse, waterfowl and other wildlife – and staying at The Pioneer will make your trip a memorable one.
Come home to a warm cabin after a day in the woods and marshes, and take in the camaraderie of the tavern in our main lodge.
The Pioneer can help make a good hunting trip a great one!
You’re not far from civilization.
Long Lake’s vacation-land is not without it’s “urban” conveniences. If you’re looking for supermarket and department store shopping, churches, laundromats, theaters, roller rinks and bowling, you can visit nearby Rice Lake, as well as Birchwood, Spooner, Hayward and Shell Lake. And for the golfer, there are several challenging courses in the area, including one right on Long Lake.
For a closer relationship with the outdoors, try The Pioneer Campground, located right on the grounds of The Pioneer on Long Lake. Our campground combines outdoor living with the pleasures of Long Lake, for an experience you won’t soon forget!
